The river is quite low despite heavy rains in the morning. There are still fish in the lower river here and there and they are willing to hit a Thunderstick if you can find them and they are in the right mood. We are still waiting for another good push of fish. Hopefully this cooler weather will help. Check out our blog for some great tips and fun reading!

Fishing between Mac/Lac is slim to none for salmon this week. Water levels are at their lowest for the summer and are not helping the kings get upstream and the outlook for rain will be awhile. Salmon need to feel the river current to find the river mouth. I look for salmon to be at their upstream peak in about three weeks depending on how much rain the Ludington area gets.

The middle river is crystal clear and you can count the spots on the backs of the salmon in the holes. Most of the fish that came into the river last week have moved up into the middle river and beyond and are holding in deep holes and runs. These fish tend to prefer smaller lures and flies with less flash and hot colors. Some reports of fish on gravels already as well. Check out our blog for some great tips and fun reading!

The Little Manistee is holding a few salmon right now, but the lower Pere Marquette River probably has a few more around. Thunderstick Jr. is the name of the game. Still waiting on a big push of fish. Check out our blog for some great tips and fun reading!

With recent rains and cooler weather we finally had a decent push of fish and the lower river is holding them nicely. These fish are big and hot and a real challenge to land in river. We're finding that fish often follow the baits right to the boat before they hit so keep on your toes all the time. Check out our blog for some great tips and fun reading!
