Big Chinook salmon 30 pounds or more are still being caught, but the number of fish coming in has slowed. Try meat rigs, flies and j-plugs 40 to 100 feet down in 120 to 300 feet. Pier fishing was slow.

Chinook fishing here continues to get better with a good number of fish 30 pounds plus being caught. Most were 50 to 100 feet down in 130 to 300 feet and hitting on spoons, meat rigs and J-plugs.

Fishing has been good for awhile. The king's this year are in less numbers but very large. We ran out a couple miles north then out 6 miles and set up in 110' of water. Best lures are Dreamweaver 8" chrome killer and showtimes spin doctors with green Dreamweaver meat rigs. Early was slow but we just kept on picking one up every so often. Surface temperatures were up around 70 degrees and more salmon are being caught including one fish just over 34 pounds. Anglers are trolling spoons and meat rigs 30 to 70 feet down in 170 to 300 feet. A small number of steelhead and lake trout were also caught.

Surface temperature readings were up near 66 degrees. Pier fishing is slow. Off shore fishing was slow but some had success for Chinook, lake trout and steelhead in 120 to 200 feet when trolling spoons.

Some anglers were still getting small Chinook and brown trout in the basin. Chinook and lake trout were caught in 110 to 200 feet. The numbers were down but some bigger Chinook were caught. Trolling spoons in the morning was best.

Yesterday's Fish on for Freedom was again a great time!!! Thank you veterans for all you do and have done to allow all of us to live free!!!! Fishing was steady, we ended the morning with 12 and threw a few others back!! The afternoon was again steady!! We ended the afternoon with 10 and again released a few small trout!!! This morning fishing was even better with 14 keeper trout and salmon and a few undersized trout released!!!! Surface temperature readings were up to 60 degrees. The catch rate slowed for those trolling but they were still bringing in some brown trout, steelhead and the occasional salmon. Most fish were caught on spoons 60 to 100 feet down in 130 to 200 feet. Pier fishing was slow.

Had surface water temperatures near 54 degrees. Fishing slowed here also with only a few Chinook along with a couple steelhead and lake trout taken on spoons in 85 to 250 feet. Pier anglers were few. Baitfish are in the harbor and those trolling caught Chinook, brown trout, steelhead and the occasional lake trout.

Surface water temperate readings were at about 51 degrees. Some anglers had success trolling in the harbor. Chinook, browns and steelhead were caught trolling using spoons. Off shore Chinook fishing slowed but many anglers were catching big healthy fish in 130 to 250 foot of water. Steelhead, lake trout and browns also came in at those depths. Spoons were the most successful bait.

Ludington: Surface temperature readings were 50 degrees. Warm temperatures have brought the Chinook salmon in. Anglers were taking limit catches of big healthy fish to the south in 120 to 200 feet or when heading north to Big Sable Point. A small number of lake trout and steelhead were also taken. Most are trolling spoons. Pier fishing was slow.

Afternoons, yup.... We offer mornings and afternoons aboard the Lie A Lot!! We set up as we have the last few trips south out of Ludington Pier Heads in 50' of water. The morning rain finally ended but the ensueing fog made seeing shore impossible. Lucky for us the fish didn't mind and we preceeded to catch their 12 trout!!!! Best rigs continue to be a Dreamweaver chrome spin doctor 8" with either blue or yellow spin and glows on or just off bottom!!! Very enjoyable trip guys, hope to see you again!! Fishing started out fast and they quickly piled up!! Dreamweaver chrome spin doctor and yellow or blue spin and glows dominated the trout this morning. Fished south of the Ludington Pier Heads in 50-60' of water. We caught their trout then I reeled mine in before we started pulling lines and caught and released 6 more!! LieLot Charters.. Pier fishing was slow with only a few brown trout caught. Offshore, fishing started to heat up with a good number of Chinook salmon and lake trout as well as some brown trout caught in 50 to 70 feet. Spoons were the ticket.

Fishing has been very very good out of Ludington!!!! We started the day late setting lines about 9:30 am and back to the dock at 3!! Fishing was best in front of or south of the Ludington Pump Storage plant in 50-60 feet. Best lures were Dreamweaver spin doctor with yellow and another Dreamweaver spin doctor with blue spin and glows. We ran 3,5,and 7 color leadcores but after leaving late missed the king salmon bite. We did though have one on for awhile on a 5 color leadcore with a yeck copperhead. Give us a call at Lie A Lot Charters today to book for spring summer or fall fishing trip. (800)-850-1978

Surface temperatures were up to 46 degrees. Pier fishing was slow with only a couple steelhead and brown trout caught on spawn. Lake trout fishing was really heating up with many boat anglers taking limit catches on spin-glo's in 35 to 55 feet. Chinook, coho and brown trout were also caught on spoons and rapalas. A majority of the Chinook salmon were over 10 pounds.

Surface temperature readings were about 42 degrees. Brown trout and lake trout are being caught in shallow waters 9 to 15 feet deep. Small numbers of brown trout are being caught off the piers. The fish cleaning station and the restrooms are now open.

All the docks are in at the city launch but the fish cleaning station was still closed. Pier anglers caught steelhead and brown trout on spawn. Boat anglers picked up brown trout when trolling rapalas in 9 to 14 feet.

Ice is starting to go down, as of 2/21 there is still 8-10" but thin spots near holes from the run-off after the rain, BE CAUTIOUS. Perch fishing has still been fairly steady with a decent size average as well. Northerns have slowed a little as the water starts to get muddy.

7 to 9 inches of ice near Buttersville and Copeyon Park, the barge has been through the shipping lane. Perch fishing has been on and off throughout the week, Northerns have been fairly steady near Buttersville. No reports for people fishing slammers yet.
